Ruger is making the jump to 10mm with the announcement that its SR1911 is now available in the hard-hitting round.

Boasting the same Bomar-style adjustable sights as the SR1911 Target model, the new full-size, stainless steel SR1911 in 10mm Auto features a tight-fitting, bushingless bull barrel—which is a first for Ruger. The ramped barrel is coated in black nitride, helping to reduce the wear commonly associated with 10mm Auto ammo. In another first for the Connecticut-based gun maker, this new SR1911 model utilizes a full-length steel guide rod for the recoil spring. Also included is rubberized grip panels for more control and comfort.

The American-made, CNC-machined model comes with Ruger’s Series 70 design; lowered and flared ejection port; titanium firing pin; and a precision-machined bull barrel. An integral plunger tube; beavertail grip safety; extended magazine release; oversize thumb safety; skeletonized hammer and skeletonized aluminum trigger round out the features.

Weighing in at just 40.4 ounces with an empty magazine, the Ruger SR1911 in 10mm Auto comes with a five-inch barrel and ships with two, 8-round magazines, as well as a cable locking device. MSRP is $1019.
