Honor Defense is nothing if not busy. The Georgia-based gun maker is less than two years old and has just announced nine new versions of its Honor Guard compact and subcompact single-stack 9mm pistol, bringing the total number of available offerings to 16.
One of the new Honor Defense Honor Guard models on tap is the compact HG9CLE. Designed for law enforcement officers, it features a 3.8-inch barrel and is being offered in black and FDE grips, with or without a manual thumb safety. It ships with two 8-round magazines for backup and off-duty carry.

Meanwhile, in the commercial space, the compact and subcompact Honor Guards are being offered in new colors, including FDE, OD green and mahogany. These models also come with our without a manual thumb safety.
“Shooters like variety,” said Gary Ramey, Honor Defense President. “So we are trying to provide handguns with features they desire, such as compact and long-slide versions, as well as manual safeties and even colors that make their guns stand out.”
Built with input from firearm and law enforcement experts, the striker-fired 9mm Honor Defense Honor Guard lineup sports a stainless steel chassis and features ambidextrous controls on the release and slide lock, as well as ambidextrous safety on versions with a manual safety on versions with a manual safety. Also included are snag-free sights with a cocking ledge; crisp trigger with a short reset; and serrations over the slide for easier racking.

Each Honor Guard model comes with two magazines—a 7-round and an 8-round—and two backstraps for grip customization.
“We have grown to have a family of 16 pistol skus since January 2016. With advanced design engineering, we will continue to build on that success” added Ramey. “We will remain focused on designs that are ambidextrous, modular, and do not need tools or trigger pull for disassembly. We’ll also be adding more grip sizes, calibers and barrel options in the future.”
